is the bay area's news station, kron 4 news at 11:00 p.m., starts now. >> new tonight, drivers are back on the dumbarton bridge. caltrans closed the bridge on friday for the weekend in order to complete retro fit work. tonight they opened all lanes. 10 hours ahead of schedule. kron 4's charles clifford is live near the toll plaza and has details. >> reporter: right now i am live for the dumbarton bridge. as you can see traffic resumed here. not too many cars right now because caltrans opened the bridge 10 hours early. people probably didn't plan on crossing the bridge tonight but it is open and there are cars going across. let's look at video. caltrans finished two projects, they finished putting in a 42- inch joint and lifted a portion of the roadway up 5 inches off of the foundation to put bearings in there and that will allow the bridge to have flexibility if there is an earthquake. they got the work done ahead of schedule because of nice weather this weekend and they learned from previous experience over memorial day weekend when they did similar work and the contractors were g
